Apply NowGarnet sand is a good abrasive, and a common replacement for silica sand in sand blasting. Alluvial garnet grains which are rounder are more suitable for such blasting treatments. Mixed with very high pressure water, garnet is used to cut steel and other materials in water jets. For water jet cutting, garnet extracted from hard rock is suitable since it is more angular in form, therefore more efficient in cutting.
As an abrasive, garnet can be broadly divided into two categories
The garnet, as it is mined and collected, is crushed to finer grains:
Regardless of the application, the larger grain sizes are used for faster work and the smaller ones are used for finer finishes.
We provide different sizes of abrasive garnet which is used in Sand Blasting, Water Jet Cutting & Water Filteration
Sr.No | SIZE | USES |
---|---|---|
1 | #20-40, #20-60 & #30-60 | Sand Blasting |
2 | #80 & #120 | Water Jet Cutting |
3 | #0-12 & #12-24 | Water Filteration |
20/40, 20/60 and 30/60 Fine grains of Abrasive Garnet is recommended for blast cleaning applications. Industrial Mineral is a natural Almandine known for its natural hardness, resilience and lends itself to high performance during blasting. Its intrinsic physical and chemical uniformity ensures superior performance. Garnet is steadily superseding other blasting media ,in the below mentioned areas, because it is environment friendly and reusable.
Micro grains of garnet like Grade #80 / # 120 are perfectly suitable for the Water jet cutting Media in the Industrial purpose. Uniformity in grain size, hardness, and sturdiness result in cutting-edge quality, optimum efficiency and low economics. It is perfectly suitable for the applications given below.
Abrasive grains are highly useful for coating abrasives, which in turn are used for coating of metal, wood & other coating purposes. Abrasive Paper made out of abrasive grains are mainly used for the surface preparation application for painting and removing of the corrosion particles, which gives new life to surface preparation.
Garnet sand, by garnet for grinding of raw materials and has high hardness, high temperature resistance, chemical stability, uniform particles, high grinding efficiency, no scratches, and other characteristics. For in the industry of water jet cutting; all kinds of metal, plastic, wood and other surface sandblasting processing industry; ultra precision grinding of the machinery industry, precision casting and kinescope glass, optical glass, silicon, and so on the grinding industry.
The proportion of large (than other crystal gem to large), popular said, is more weight than other crystal gemstones.
Because it is natural growth crystallization of the gem, then it is natural that there will be natural growth inside the texture, ice crack, cotton body (similar to the growth of cotton texture).
Garnet hardness is relatively large, larger than ordinary glass.
Garnet crystal is very small, so the particles are very small.
When using garnet sand for surface blasting, it's high specific weight results in significantly reduced dust generation. This ensures operator safety and enhances visibility throughout the blasting process.
In comparison, quartz sand is an abrasive that breaks easily. During the blasting process, it generates a significant amount of harmful gases and hydrated silica dust, which can pollute the environment. Inhalation of this dust poses serious health risks, including the potential to cause cancer.
Different from conventional blasting materials, garnet sand is a kind of non-toxic natural mineral. Low consumption and recycling can also help reduce waste.
Garnet sand can be used in a variety of fields. Generally, it can be reused five times and more. When garnet sand loses its cutting capacity, it can be used as cement additive in construction industry.
